how Europa, consider the following demographics subtleties, derived from
the findings of IDC's Project Atlas, which surveyed 2,400 advanced
internet users in Europe in 1999:
- German citizens were four times more
likely than the French to buy apparel over the internet.
- Half the French citizens surveyed who
conducted commerce over the Web had bought travel tickets in the past
year. A much higher percentage than in countries such as the
Netherlands or Denmark.
- Less than 10% of consumers buying on
line in Spain are women, as compared to 40% in France and Norway.
