DEFINITION:

A system  is a group of interacting, interrelated, or interdependent elements forming a complex whole

 

DECISION SUPPORT SYSTEMS:  Computer based information systems that provide interactive information support to managers and end-users during the decision- making process:

 

In general DSS re designed to be ad hoc, quick response systems that are initiated and controlled by a decision maker.
