California's Triple Threat
Rancho Santa Margarita, CA - We assert that the sucking sound you hear are all the jobs California is losing to Nevada, Texas and Utah, in large measure do to what we refer to as California's Triple Threat: 1) Public sector organized labor, 2) un-elected, un-checked parasitic bureaucracies and 3) lobbyists.

Of Parasitic Bureaucracies
We continue to assert that California’s Triple Threat is choking off California: 1) Unions, 2) Lobbyist and 3) Parasitic bureaucracies. In the past, we have discussed the California Law Revision Commission (CLRC), the Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO), and the Air Quality Board (AQB) as an example of parasitic bureaucracies

Attorney General Gerry Brown's 2009 Legalized Murder Protection Act Special Report Is Out
Sacramento, CA - In its apparently infinite wisdom, the California Legislature passed Bill 780, the 2002 Reproductive Rights Law Enforcement Act requiring the Attorney General to collect and analyze information on crimes that violate reproductive rights and submit a report to the Legislature (California Penal Code section 13777), where section 13776(a) of the California Penal Code defines an anti-reproductive-rights crime as a crime “committed partly or wholly because the victim is a reproductive health services client, provider, or assistant, or a crime that is partly or wholly intended to intimidate the victim, any other person or entity, or any class of persons.” - view this as the Legalized Murder Protection Act (LMPA)

Democrats Recipe #1: Snatch Defeat from Jaws of Doom – Baby Whine Puree
I must confess that I was so annoyed when I first heard the anti-Whitman ad using a reporter to attack her voting record and asking the question “why?” some three or four times, I was ready to retire the television for the entire election season. The ad follows a GOP recipe to “snatch defeat from the jaws of victory,” attempting to disqualify Ms. Whitman from public service because she did not vote religiously and questions her motives for spending millions in her own campaign. As expected, the ad continues to run long after Ms. Whitman was selected as the GOP’s candidate to face politician-for-life Attorney General Gerry Brown.

Getting around public records act Excuse Number 9
The good news is that California government code section 6250 was enacted because the legislature recognized that access to information concerning the conduct of government employees is a fundamental and necessary right of every person in this state. Such information means any handwriting, typewriting, printing, photostating, photographing, photocopying, transmitting by electronic mail or facsimile, and every other means of recording upon any tangible thing any form of communication or representation, including letters, words, pictures, sounds, or symbols, or combinations thereof, and any record thereby created, regardless of the manner in which the record has been stored.

What is wrong with this picture?
Rancho Santa Margarita, CA - A self-described staunch conservative found a compelling reason to send an e-mail blast yesterday asking for, you guessed it more donations. The way we see it, there are many problems with the request: This candidate not only lost, but lost badly in the primary elections. In fact, we called the California Trifecta one month before the primary. This implies that the failed candidate while preaching about “making government live within its means”, was really doing an Obamanesque impression of “do as I say, not as I do”. This is the same candidate who argued just a couple of years ago that earmarks are just a small portion of the total budget, for instance.

GOP Recipes For How to Snatch Defeat from Jaws of Victory
We saw this before. We predicted it before. We were right before: The day pundit Charles Krauthammer predicted 66%-33%, as so many other so-called conservative politicians did, that Health Care would be defeated, we predicted it would pass. The rationale was that the administration and Congress had nothing to loose and everything to win. It was all about mid-term elections. We were right. As we watched the primary elections, we continue to see how the GOP continues to perfect its recipe to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. For example:

The California Mud Wrestling Federation (MWF) 2010 Edition is here.
As soon as the polls closed and Meg Whitman was elected to represent the GOP in the California Governor’s race, in what promises to be one of the most watched races in the country, the mud started to fly:

Laguna Woods, CA - It is heretic for homeowners association to go against a property management company – after all, a whole multi-billion dollar industry has been built around the notion that since in a common interest development (CID) community, the board is composed of volunteers who come and go, it is up to the property management company and legal counsel to properly manage the “institutional brain” – that is, directors do mostly what the property management company and or legal counsel dictated. The EEOC Says we are wrong – Criminals Deserve Jobs Too.
When clients ask us to suggest a cyber security plan, we start out with a number of questions, such as: Do you know about the $1,000 fence for the $1.00 horse? Who is the enemy? The answer usually leads us to the What and the Why of the final proposal. Turns out that some 70-90% of all security breaches are directly linked to insiders. These and other fact lead us to include a recommended best business hiring process, which includes a background check on potential employees, particularly those who may be chartered with guarding the aforementioned horse.

CAL. AG Lobbies US Senate - Refuses to join in Challenge to Constitutionality of HCR
LOS ANGELES, CA - As a financial reform package advances in the Senate and an unrelenting swarm of Wall Street lobbyists descends on Capitol Hill to block it, Attorney General Edmund G. Brown Jr. today urged senators to preserve a critical portion of the legislation which allows states to join the fight against financial fraud on the front line. At the same time, as a number of Attorneys General and Governors accross the country swarm to challenge the constitutionality of the ObamaCare Bill, Brown refuses to join mostly because doing so politicizes the issue.

Public Education

An argument for a Paradigm Shift in Public Education – One in a series
Rancho Santa Margarita, CA - Arguably, there is a need for a paradigm shift in public education. That is, a radical transformation, as opposed to the continuous partisan bickering, such as the one going on in CAPO.To be clear, “radical transformation” means different things to different people - not in the words must mean something demagoguery sense: visionary leaders see what others can’t see, for example.

A Capo teacher opines that CAPO teachers are nice - the problem is with the fiscally responsible CUSD board members. The Laguna Woods Ultimatum Redux
Thank you for writing and publishing the story of the lawsuit, filed by Third Mutual, in the CotoBuzz Journal dated 06-11-2010. It is time this story was told. The late Mike Curtis was fighting for action to be taken against PCM's mis-management of our Laguna Woods Village, practically until his dying day. I am submitting a Letter to the Editor to the Orange County Register - copy below in hopes that it will publish it. I feel it is very important that the Ultimatum contained in the piece published by the CotoBuzz Journal is also published elsewhere for all residents to see. Most only see the lovely gardens and the amiable workers. They do not really see what has gone on and how much it has, and will continue to, cost them. Thank you for your support and consideration.
