Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On in RSMRancho Santa Margarita, CA - The excitement in and around the Jesse Petrilla for Rancho Santa Margarita for city council campaign is palpable on the heels of Congressman Rohrabacher’s endorsement of Petrilla. “I am very excited about the momentum and support my campaign has received so early on. We need to keep it up all the way to November.” Said Petrilla
I
asked Petrilla what he needed to do to win.
“As
Congressman Rohrabacher said while citing his reasons
for endorsing my candidacy, “We don’t need
complacency, we need someone who will shake things up,
and that’s what Jesse is going to do," and
complacent is something I never intend on becoming. If given the privilege of serving on Rancho's council,
I do plan on
shaking things up, and will always be a strong fighter
for the citizens of RSM, never forgetting who I work
for.” As a result of the Menifee City Council’s suspension of Finance Director Gary Thompson’s contract and plans to probe the city's supplier management process and controls, questions have been raised about a “good old boy’s network” approach to supplier management in the City of Rancho Santa Margarita. Mr. Thompson is an incumbent Rancho Santa Margarita council member seeking reelection. We asked Mr. Petrilla to opine: "I do not call it a "good old boys network", instead I prefer to look at things with a fresh perspective, rather than dwell on events of the past. I look to the future, and believe that I can offer a fresh face that can provide that new perspective which so many desire." So what are the remaining
challenges facing the Petrilla campaign, we asked: “I am absolutely
humbled by the immense support that has poured in,
allowing us to raise nearly $24,000 in the first year.
We will certainly face fundraising challenges, and we
need the continued support from every person who
supports my ideals, and who wants a new voice for the
people of our city. It is tough going up against
incumbents, they have the luxury of receiving
significant contributions from special interest
groups, but I wear the fact that my base of support
comes from individuals like a badge of honor. It means
I am beholden to no one but the voters of Rancho Santa
Margarita.”
