Rancho Santa Margarita, CA.   In a continued attempt to connect the dots, we have combined the Allied Casualties in Afghanistan, with the most recent Man-Made Disasters, as the current administration prefers to call terrorist acts.  Given Elena Kagan's, US Supreme Court nominee,  dislike for our troops, that may be another dot to consider as our readers come to their  own conclusions based on the facts.

For reference, since General McChrystal asked for additional troops, a total of 397 allied troops have died in Afghanistan, and 697 since the "Real" Strategy was announced by the BHO Administration

You want a free, independent press? – get off the couch! - The U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee delayed the discussion of and vote on bill S. 448 - the Free Flow of Information Act. There is currently no timetable for the next markup of the bill on the Committee's calendar, so the CotoBuzz Journal and readership strongly encourages the Committee to reopen discussions and vote without delay. However, the stall means there is more time to call your senators and let them know how important S. 448 is to maintaining a free and independent press without Speaker Pelosi’s restrictions

Legislative Alert:  Federal Shield Law & Pelosi's Shut Up Rule The CotoBuzz Journal is calling on all who value freedom of speech to  fight against a federal shield law intended  to restrict the free flow of information. Appropriately, on Constitution Day,  Thursday, Sept. 17, the Senate Judiciary Committee will discuss, S. 448 - the Free Flow of Information Act. The bill would create a federal shield law that would grant protections to journalists who refuse to reveal confidential sources, even when compelled by a subpoena and the threat of penal action.  Currently, journalists and their sources are only protected by privilege statutes or administrative rules in certain states. There is no federal shield law protecting journalists and their sources.
