Another
Political Assassination in the Works In The
Villa

Laguna Woods Village - “Village Snopes would be nice to
dispel myths that are causing havoc on the mutual
boards”, reads an article titled “ Rumors
false, and published December 18,2007 by
the OCR. The article asserts that according to
Third Mutual president Cynthia Conner, claims that the
board is planning on removing director Stanley
Feldstein are untrue.
The rumor mill is in full swing and this time we understand
that yet another political assassination is in the
works. This
time the target is Director Katie McDaniel, coming
shortly after the bottle-throwing
incident during
the Feb. 23, 2009 Third Mutual closed session when it
is alleged that Carol
Moore threw a bottle of water at Director K. McDanie.
A special meeting of the board has been called for March 5
with the express intent of removing Director McDaniel.
On a related matter, we
understand that, Director McDaniel has called the
police to file charges against Director Moore.
A
source close to Director McDaniel confirms that she
has reported the bottle-throwing incident to the John
Frey of the Orange County sheriff’s department. This
source says that “Although Director McDaniel
regrets the action was necessary, Moore has refused to
acknowledge her involvement either in public or in
private. As a result Director McDaniel fears for
her personal safety. She has, in fact,
petitioned Gene Hart of PCM security to provide
protection when she must entered. PCM has been
silent on this request and alternative legal action is
being considered to provide safety"
This
action by a few directors could be construed as an
action designed to silence a voice on the board which
calls directors to act as they vote and to vote as
they promised during their election campaign.
Since
it is impossible to attribute motive with complete
certainty, one must wait for the scene in Third to
play out.

Laguna Woods Village Shareholders Committee is asking
Third Board director Cynthia Conners to resign her
positions on the board for a number of alleged ethical
violations.

Board Seated
The Third Laguna Hills Mutual of Laguna Woods
Village seated the new board for that housing mutual
today. Officers include Carol Moore, President; Stan
Feldstein, 1st Vice President; Don Lippert, 2nd Vice
President; Kathryn Freshley, Secretary. The voting was
done by secret ballot and the anticipation of the
members present was that business would proceed
without the roadblocks of the past year.
