from June 13 to July 25, 2009
Mark Mothersbaugh-Postcard Diaries: WE MUST
REPEAT
Most of Mark Mothersbaugh's life has been dedicated to his
prolific music endeavor with his band DEVO; a college
art project that blossomed into a long career for the
Akron, Ohio quintet. DEVO is widely known and
respected as one of the most important bands to emerge
from the '70s and 80's, spanning 20 years and nearly
20 albums.
During his downtime on early worldwide tours with DEVO,
Mothersbaugh began illustrating on postcards to send
to his friends. Every day for more than 30 years he
has been creating these cards, yielding from 1 to 25
images per day. These cards were originally created as
his personal diaries, and were never intended for
public viewing.

ARTHUR TAUSSIG- Postcards
from the Edges of America
"Postcards from
the Edges of America" is artist Arthur Taussig's
post-Modern photo documentary project. More than 100
prints included in the exhibition represent a small
piece of a body of work that has surpassed the 15,000
mark in actual photographs taken.
"Postcards" is an exploration on the
function of the "museum" within various
levels of culture. Taussig's photographs are
illustrative of his unique vision, one deeply rooted
both in photography and contemporary art.
