The Department of Theatre Arts at Saddleback College is presenting a Special Student’s Admissions Night  of To Kill a Mockingbird, a production based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel written by Harper Lee. Told from the perspective of children growing up in the South during the 1930’s, the story is told with warmth and humor, while at the same time addressing serious issues of racial inequality and loss of innocence.

On November 13th at 8pm, the performance will be held as a special student night in the McKinney Theatre. Tickets for high school and Saddleback College students will be sold at a discount of $6, however all are welcome to this special presentation. In addition, a panel discussion will follow the performance, featuring the show’s director, designer, and critics of American Literature. The panel will relay the important themes and concerns of To Kill a Mockingbird and how they relate to the major issues of today, such as the first election of an African American president.    Also, the Associated Student Government at Saddleback College is holding a food drive to help families in the Saddleback College Community.  Please bring non-perishable items to this performance.
