Abortion in Switzerland is legal during the first trimester, upon condition of counseling, for women who state that they are in distress. It is also legal with medical indications - threat of severe physical or psychological damage to the mother - at any later time

Abortion is a common experience: At current rates, about one in three American women will have had an abortion by the time she reaches age 45. Moreover, a broad cross section of U.S. women have abortions. 56% of women having abortions are in their 20s; 61% have one or more children; 67% have never married; 57% are economically disadvantaged; 88% live in a metropolitan area; and 78% report a religious affiliation. No racial or ethnic group makes up a majority: 41% of women obtaining abortions are white non-Hispanic, 32% are black non-Hispanic, 20% are Hispanic and 7% are of other racial backgrounds.

In a campaign titled Protect Teen Safety, Planned Parenthood extols supports to vote No on proposition 4, with a note and a link to legislator's voting record - mostly divided along political lines voting for "Pro-choice" or Against pro-choice". Apparently the term "women's privacy" is now the preferred term, over pro-choice.

NOTE: "Each year, a number of bills designed to create barriers or limit access to abortion services are introduced. Areas this legislation has covered include "informed consent", abortion reporting, insurance coverage, student fees, pathology reports, "fetal pain", fetal license plates, sex selection, fetal tissue research, late term abortions, etc.- Planned Parenthood".

For years Switzerland and California scientists have created genetically modified crops. However, last year, Switzerland began mandating that geneticists conduct their research without trampling on a plant's dignity. In an article by Gautum Naik, published this Friday by the Wall Street Journal, Naik describes how a molecular biologist seeking permission to do a field trial of genetically modified wheat fist had "to debate the finer points of plant dignity with university ethicists". In his request to the government, Beat Keller, the molecular biologist, explained why the planned trial would not "disturb the vital plant functions or lifestyle "

Apparently the enlightened Swiss ethicists believe that legalized murder, is a right, as in California and in the United States, and there is no second-thought to disturbing the vital functions or lifestyle of an unborn baby, but mandate scientists to worry if the subject in question is a plant!

As for me, I plan to Vote Yes or Proposition Four, pass the lawnmower!
