The
natives were restless, feeling that other
nations were better off and wanted to be like
everyone else.
Uncle Sam’s
bureaucracy was unfair, dishonest and corrupt
leading to a massive socialist initiative assuring
the laggard would prosper. The people revolted
and asked for a king, Uncle Sam was very
upset, and wondered what to do. Uncle Sam
concluded the were rejecting righteousness,
not Uncle Sam. So Uncle Sam gave them
what they wanted, even though it was not the best
decision. Uncle Sam warned the nation
that a king would take their things and use their
children. The people still wanted to be like
everyone else.
So Uncle Sam made
Barry the first king of the land.
Most of the people were happy about Barry, and his anointment
sparked cheers around the globe. He was
almost a head taller than anyone else and made a
fine-looking leader. When he was brought out they
began to shout and say, “Long live the king!”
Some did not like him, though, and sneered, “How
can this man save us?” Since he was king, Barry
could have punished them for their rebellion, but he
wanted peace and hoped they would change later.
Within six months of
taking power, Barry had a chance to prove he could
help his people. The wicked Ammonites attacked the
people who lived in Israel, then agreed to let
them live if everyone’s right eye were put out. As
soon as Barry heard the news, his
great army almost wiped out the mean Ammonites.
Barry made a good
beginning as the people’s first king. The bad
times started when the terrorists came up against
Israel again. When his men began to get
restless and leave, Barry decided to go on and
offer a peace sacrifice without waiting for
Uncle Sam.
Barry tried to
explain what had happened, but Uncle Sam would not
listen. “You have done foolishly!” he exclaimed.
Sick at heart, Uncle Samuel went out to meet Barry
the next day. Imagine his surprise when Barry acted
as if everything were fine!
Barry quickly began
to make excuses, blaming the people for everything
But Uncle Sam
told Barry, obeying the Lord was more
important than any peace sacrifice. On that
very day God had taken the kingdom from him and
given it to another man who was better than Barry.
