Continuing the tradition and reflecting the election results of Laguna Woods City which rejected independent thinkers, new blood, fresh ideas to move the City into the 21st Century, Golden Rain Foundation today took special pains to appear macabre fools by electing the biggest joke of all to the presidency: Erwin You’re-a-Pompous-Ass Stuller. Stuller is head of the Security committee who trembles in fear behind his big black chair on the dais while Jerry On-the-Border Storage conducts the meetings in his stead. Milt Johns only has to manipulate the puppet’s strings on one character in that committee, Storage, as Stuller is impotent and silent.

Memorable
performances by Stuller include calling Third Director
Stan
Feldstein a Pompous Ass at an open GRF board
meeting during the time when discussions about
civility and name calling were ongoing. Mr. Feldstein
had the temerity to address Stuller as Mr and
Stuller pitched a screaming fit insisting that he be
called “Judge” or ”Your
Honor” as he is retired from the bench
where he dealt with Social Security issues -
apparently cases of tremendous legal implications
forever recorded for first year law students to
memorize - slightly above Night Court legal
precedents. His Onerous may have
forgotten that any honorary title he uses is just
exactly that…honorary and not required even by Miss
Manners. It took action by the entire GRF board to
have all directors simply called “director”.
The tragic-comedic climax of the entire episode
is that Stuller was more animated during that exchange
than any other meeting in his history as a GRF Board
member.
Milt
Johns, in the meantime, will continue to sit at the
Right Hand of the Almighty where his ventriloquist’s
hand will fit more smoothly into the back of Stuller
to make the dummy come alive and to have the usual
close control over the microphone button, should any
resident dare stray and need to be shut down. The
positive element here is that residents will no longer
be subjected to the rattling rasp of Bob Miller,
the outgoing President.
Under
Stuller’s direction GRF will dismiss the current
economic crisis as irrelevant. He will blindly accept
all increases proposed by PCM and continue to increase
reserve funding for amenities at the expense of the
housing mutuals. It will be interesting to see how
United and Third Housing Mutuals approach the 2010
budget since they have both expressed wonder and
disapproval at GRF establishing their budget before
the housing mutuals do.
An
open revolt was narrowly avoided during the 2009
budget process when Janet Price, PCM Finance
Director and Ex Officio officer , insisted it
was “too late to make revisions” during version 2
(of 3) budget session in Third. She made similar
statements to United when they threatened to reject
the reserve increases passed by GRF. Price told them
they could not reject the increases because the GRF
budget had already been passed. Since Stuller seems
unable to track an agenda written for him the worry is
that the budget process will send him into permanent
fossilization.
While
any mono-neuron person may be surprised at the
election of Stuller to the presidency, it should
really not be. He is the absolutely perfect marionette
who will dance in sublime perfection for PCM’s
“London Derriere.”
