Laguna Woods City Council Race – The Change You Cannot Afford?
Posted
by: CotoBlogzz | 11/05/2008 02:30 PM In
a recent discussion leading up to election day, an anonymous
comment posted from a computer previously used by a
public servant in the same thread had the following
suggestion: “If you don’t like PCM, the Boards, the City Council,
etc. - rise up and vote them out“. This suggestion is the
tenor of what critics get when they contact the Orange
County DA, the OCSD, the Attorney General the
California Real Estate Commission and any other
government agency. The only viable solution for redress of grievances in common
interest developments (CID) like Laguna Woods Village
and or the City of Laguna Woods is legal action. The returns of the 2008 Laguna Woods City Council race can be
used to illustrate the old adage, the more things
change, the more they stay the same”
SONTAG, BELDNER and TUCKER were supported by Save
Open Space (SOS) in the City of Laguna Woods “Unfortunately, things will now likely be a little
worse for us on the City Council - Marty Rhodes
replaced Bob Bouer. Marty is not only one of the
key GRF Board members responsible for changing our
name from Leisure World to Laguna Woods Village, he
has always voted in favor of further land development
and supports big spending to do it. This means
that we must be prepared, more than ever, to attend
Planning Advisory Committee and City Council meetings
and watch for any move they may make towards
consumption of our open space and undeveloped land“
writes Mike Curtis, Secretary, SOS In Laguna Wood. Accepting that there is merit to the application of the Exponential Function to the Laguna Woods budget process, the results of the 2008 City of Laguna Woods City Council race, might be change Laguna Woods resdients cannot afford.
