Resident Survey Has Little Value- Laguna Woods Village

An
open letter sent to the Laguna Woods Village HOA
board president asserts that “
in my opinion, the survey has many flaws and the
results will have little statistical value.”
The
letter goes on to ask pertinent questions, such as
- Who designed the survey?
- How do you assure randomization?
- How do you make sure it is statistically valid?
The
author of the letter then expresses hope that the
“board will realize how inadequate this survey
is and how little knowledge we can glean from the
results”

COMMENTS
The Survey that we did several years ago was a comprehensive, computer, cross referenced survey. Though respondents were anonomus, as a result of cross referencing, we could see the demographic really well. I am not sure if using an automated survey as is being proposed will produce the same benefit. It will most likely be an opinion survey; but it may not tell the Board who is saying what. i.e. age of respondent, length of ownership in Coto, male, female, income level, tract, kids/no kids etc. We had this breakdown and much more so we could clearly see trends. Mr. Morabito is a former member CZ board of directors. Mr Morabito volunteer to do a professional survey for the CZ Master Association - apparently the board decided not to take him up on the offer.

is difficult to see how the CZ survey as proposed can
have any statistical significance.
On
the other hand, it could be used to justify additional
