LETTERS GRF Rules of Engagement Restrict Resident Participation
July
27,
2008 The GRF resolution (click
here for copy) about to be finally approved at the
next GRF Board meeting - Tuesday after next
(August 5th), is an effort to greatly restrict
resident participation in their meetings. Click
here
for additional information This is the creation of Milt Johns and his crack good ol'
boys, and should be rejected. It did not come
out of any committee recommendation - just magically
appeared at the last meeting. As a minimum, it
was supposed to be changed to also include Directors -
but it has not. This plan violates our long
standing history of open resident participation at
board meetings. I hope you might take a few minutes to read the attached,
then send a note to GRF and express your displeasure
with the attempt to greatly restrict your
opportunity to speak. Please send your note and comments
as soon as possible to: GRF
Board of Directors P.O. Box 2220 Laguna Woods, CA 92654 Request that your comments be read aloud at the meeting
before any final vote is taken. As for me, one of the most obnoxious rules they wish to
establish, supposedly in an effort to help meetings go
faster, is to require residents to fill out cards,
which will be "randomly" selected by the
chair, before you might be allowed to speak. See
page 3. This will take more time to collect
cards, count them, set time limits, and pull names
"randomly" (ha!) to speak. Thanks for taking some time to send in your comments!
