The Orange County DA's Office No Habla Christmas A winter solstice holiday greeting specially for the OCDA December
14, 2007 As
part of an ongoing commitment to improve the quality
of life in Orange County communities, the Orange
County District Attorney's Office (OCDA), Delhi
Community Center, and Toys for Tots will celebrate the
season with 40 special families at the 9th Annual
Adopt-a-Family event. The holiday party will be held
tomorrow, Saturday,
December 15, 2007 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
at the Delhi
Community Center at 505 East Central Avenue, Santa
Ana. Also
interesting to see that in the Spanish version of the
press release announcing the event, “special
families” is translated as low income, and Holidays
is translated as Christmas, where as Santa Claus is
translated as Papa Noel. Apparently
the Orange County DA no habla Christmas
and no habla Low
Income. Hence,
we com In
the Holiday spirit… Please
accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, our
best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially
responsible, low stress, non-addictive, gender
neutral, celebration of the winter solstice holiday,
practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the
religious persuasion of your choice, or secular
practices of your choice, with respect to the
religious/secular persuasions and/or traditions of
others, or their choice not to practice religious or
secular traditions at all… …and a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling, and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2007, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make America great, (but not to imply that America is necessarily greater than any other country or is the only “America” in the western hemisphere), and without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith, choice of computer platform, or sexual preference of the wishee.
