According to the office of the Orange County District Attorney (OCDA), Medelia Chiong Fernan, 50, Fountain Valley, was arrested and charged for stealing more than $900,000 from Community Senior Serv, a nonprofit corporation located in Anaheim that provides numerous services to senior citizens in Orange County, including the administration of the Meals on Wheels Program.

Trespassing Major Issue in Upper Chiquita Canyon – TCA requests public’s help

To Kill a Mockingbird- Special Student Night
The Department of Theatre Arts at Saddleback College is presenting a Special Student’s Admissions Night of To Kill a Mockingbird, a production based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel written by Harper Lee. Told from the perspective of children growing up in the South during the 1930’s, the story is told with warmth and humor, while at the same time addressing serious issues of racial inequality and loss of innocence.

Jazz Lab Concert &  Saddleback College
The highly stylish and musically vibrant Jazz Lab Ensemble of Saddleback College will perform on Monday, December 1st at 8pm in the McKinney Theatre.  Selections will include compositions by jazz saxophonist Wayne Shorter.  Student will also perform Christmas songs, some of which are arranged by them. Endangered Missing Senior Ahmad Dardar
On 11-19-2008 at approximately 0700 hours, Ahmad Dardar was walking his grandchildren to the school bus stop on Orange Ave. (between Brookhurst and Gilbert) in Anaheim. Mr. Dardar's wife stated they were late so she and the kids rushed ahead of Mr. Dardar. After the kids were put on the school bus, his wife turned to look for him and noticed he was gone.

Ms. Bui was last seen by family in her residence in Midway City, sometime between midnight and 2:00A.M., on Wednesday, November 19, 2008. She does not have a vehicle and would likely be traveling on foot. Ms. Bui suffers from various illnesses and may be in need of immediate medical attention.

Laguna Woods Village GRF Election Results
Golden Rain Foundation (GRF) elections were held this morning in Laguna Woods Village. Successful candidates for directorships were incumbent Ruth May with the fewest votes (5,888 after weighting) followed by James Matson, present member of the Third Mutual Board with 7406 weighted votes, Bob Hatch, recently retired from Third Mutual with 9188 weighted votes and Burns Nugent formerly of United Mutual with 10,296 weighted votes.

So Goes California, So Goes GM, So Goes the US: happy belated Halloween!
The Joe Morabito,  the Small Business Owner's Perspective California Governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger has proposed raising sales tax in California by 1.5% which means sales tax in Orange County will grow to 9.75%. Los Angeles County will be 10.75%. This tax increase is to help fund an $24 billion deficit. In years past rather than cut spending, our liberal Governor and left wing Democrat controlled legislature have borrowed billions of dollars to fund annual operating expenses by selling long term bonds that are supposed to be used to fund things like schools, bridges, roads etc. with a 50 year life.

Brenda Ross and Milt Robbins, incumbent City Council members won another term yesterday and Bob/Margo Boeur was replaced with Marty Rhodes; one down. It’ll be business as usual in City Hall. Council will continue to spend money in order to get matching funds—despite a lack of need to spend it

Hello All: Democrats in Congress are talking about ending the tax advantage for 401K’s. Right now under the law, both you and your employer that provides a match can contribute to your 401K without income tax taken out first. Eventually, when you retire, presumably at a lower tax rate, after you are 59 ½, when you begin taking money out of your 401K, you would pay income tax then. In the mean time, your 401K grows tax free. Instead, the Democrats want employees and maybe employers to pay another 5% into Social Security with after tax money, which is just plain crazy considering the returns on Social Security now.
