US Senate calling a play from CZ BOD playbook - Protect Your Right to Freedom of Speech!

The US Senate, taking a page out of the CZ BOD playbook is set to consider a bill that in essence says:

“Thanks, but we do not want to hear from you, we know what is best, and we will spend your money anyway we see fit”

The unfair provisions of S. 1 are clearly designed to silence the voters who sent legislators to office to represent them, and prevent us from holding them accountable. Where have we heard this before?

Dear Senators,

As an American, I am outraged to learn that the Senate is considering a bill that will severely restrict my ability to know about the important issues and votes being considered in Washington, D.C.

The unfair grassroots-communications provisions of S. 1 are clearly designed to silence the voters who sent you to office to represent them, and prevent us from holding you accountable.

I am further outraged to learn that the organizations that serve as our eyes and ears in Washington will be burdened by outrageous red tape, while labor unions, trade associations and even foreign corporations will be exempted.

I urge you to use your considerable power and influence to ensure the unfair grassroots provisions are removed from S.1, and our right to free speech is preserved.

What no pro-active Sheriff’s traffic patrols in Coto as promised by Bob Varo? What a surprise!!! Obviously, County Sheriff Michael Carona and his command staff never consulted with Mr. Varo, CZ’s esteemed Board President. I guess they had more important things to do. Or, the whole discussion was just a figment of Bob Varo’s imagination. I am betting my 2005-07 CZ dues increases that Bob Varo was just talking to himself and/or that the guys at the Sheriff’s department just humored Bob to make him feel important. Unfortunately, with the exception of the CHP that we pay for, I don’t see any Sheriff’s black and whites on Coto streets. It would be very funny if we had not experienced two tragic deaths on our streets in the absence of any law enforcement in Coto when Varo/Mezger fired the CHP. It’s is not funny at all; just tragic and disgusting. Joe Morabito
