“There are plenty of jokes about lawyers, but everyone investigating them knows it can be a challenging task”, reads the preamble to an article by Ames Alexander, an investigative reporter with the Charlotte Observer for over 28 years and with more than 40 journalism awards to his credit. He goes on to detail what it took for him to conclude that Lucky Osho, a lawyer who does lots of indigent defense work in Mecklenburg County, may be double-billing the government.

Under the same umbrella, Ronda Muir, Esq., a senior consultant with Robin Rolfe Resources and with law-practice experience in the US and Europe and an advanced study in psychology and conflict resolution has the following words of wisdom:

In general, lawyers score below the national average in emotional intelligence

Consider reverse psychology “You probably won’t….” might be a challenge the lawyer takes, Ms. Muir suggests

Lawyers are highly sensitive to criticism and likely to be defensive.

Do not play devil’s advocate, unless you can do so tactfully

Avoid emotional plays

Given that CHP and OC Sheriff statistics indicate that Coto is an ideal environment for lawyers (refer to the GRUPS), and the composition of the new CZ board, Ms. Muir’s advice may come in quite handy.
