The Temple of Blame and Legalized Fraud Passing as "Election" March
9, 2007 The
CotoBuzz Journal readers know that we have been fighting
a Quixotic battle to bring back Law and
Order to the Community and combat political
corruption, at the local level and at the state level During
the first term of the Varo/Mezger boards, we presented
two initiatives aimed to reform an election process
riddled with potential for irregularities.
The first one was implement direct elections
and the second one was to remove cumulative voting –
the board found no merit in the initiatives and did
not even bother to acknowledge receipt of the same.
We had more luck at the state level, since
direct elections are now the law of the land in spirit
and in fact. The
board has decided to maintain a delegate system AND
cumulative voting. Just
like local politicians have decided to ignore the
spirit of electoral reform, lobbyists at the state
level are doing the same thing. If you are somewhat committed to stamping out political corruption, please sign the petition below. – click here to read details REQUEST
