EVITA A MUSICAL MASTERPIECE @ SADDLEBACK COLLEGE, March 2-11

The Theatre Arts Department at Saddleback College is proud to present Evita, music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice, in the McKinney Theatre on March 2-11, 2007. Directed and choreographed by Steve Anthony, this musical masterpiece is based on the true story of Argentina ’s controversial First Lady. Eva Peron “saint to theworking-class, reviled by the aristocracy and mistrusted by the military” was destined to leave a fascinating political legacy unique in the 20^th century.

Musical Director Carmen Dominguez brings to life a compelling score that fuses haunting chorales with exuberant Latin, pop and jazz influences. Evita creates an arresting theatrical portrait as complex as the woman herself.
