Forensic Audit Request: Conflict Of Interest August
1,
2007 Despite
Milt
Johns’, General Manager of Professional Community
Management (PCM) emphatic
defense of his business practices, the Laguna Woods
Village oversight committee continues to call for
Johns’ removal, as well as a call for a forensic
financial audit. “The
Laguna Woods Village Oversight Committee has lost
trust and confidence in the ethics of Professional
Community Management Management’s leadership. The
Oversight Committee has researched documents, taken
reports from former board directors, PCM
(whistle-blowers) employees and have detailed
inspection of Laguna Woods Village facilities. These
findings have been recorded and presented to legal
authorities via a DVD’, writes Paul Loughrey, Oversight Committee Chairman, in a document released to the
media titled “Conflict of Interest” The
document alleged violations of 501(C)3 self-interest
restrictions, and requests the board for immediate
removal of his self-interest status:
“ Mr. Johns has held closed meeting
inviolation Davis-Stirling Act and has threatened
board members with law suits. The community has
documents that indicate Mr Johns has
misused/misapplication of Laguna Woods Village assets
and resources. We are asking the board for immediate
removal of his “self interest” status”. Further,
the Laguna Woods Village oversight committee is
requesting a forensic audit: “We enter this
request for a forensic audit on August 1, 2007 and
expect to have this request administered
within 30 days of this writing. If PCM or
Housing Mutual do not act upon this document then the
community considers this a breach of fiduciary
contract and expects 90 day termination as per PCM’s
management contract” RELATED STORIES The end of a Prostituting,.. err Paraphrase Era?- Prior to the arrival of Melissa Jones to the Orange County Register as City editor, we had extensive discussions with Lyn Montagna (Jones’ predecessor) on the type of responsible community journalism needed for Coto de Caza.
