From Safety Committee to Committee to Turn Coto de Caza Into a City - Overview

This brief starts with the firing of a volunteer (early 2006) Public Safety Chairperson for her refusal to give up her free speech rights and promote Coto for city, before public safety.

The president of the CZ Master Association board promises to fire the CHP once an office is available for the Sheriff – the OC Register “paraphrases” the story.

A CZ newsletter proudly announces that the “CZ Master Association Champions Public Safety Committee”, then during general CZ board meetings, the board appoints a chairman and various public safety committee members.

A life-long security expert (who happens to criticize the association's management of the $2,000,000.00/year security budget) is rejected, because “there are too many candidates” to serve in the public safety committee – then the CZ Master Association board of directors names eight members with limited to no experience in public safety.

The CZ Master Association board of directors seeks from the County over $25K for a propaganda study that should conclude “it is good for residents to turn Coto into a city”

The president of the CZ CZ Master Association board of directors seeks a new term in 2007 and announces he wants to build a city hall.

The CZ Master Association board of directors announces that the Sheriff will patrol the horse trails and that UPS will help kids cross the street, while the CHP reduces patrol hours from 150/month to 50/month – No one bats an eye!

The CZ Master Association board of directors does not recognize the public safety committee as a committee of the CZ master association. Obviously the Public Safety Committee has turned into the Coto for City Committee!
