Master Association Electoral Procedures
Joseph
Morabito, former member CZ Master Association BOD
March
17, 2007
Hello
All: I just came back from Communist China land
of the not so free where news and all communications
are censored. Communist China has the very same
electoral process that we have in Coto. In a
country with over a billion people, a small number of
people kind of like Delegates to the Communist Party
somehow choose their leaders in secret. I would
not use the word elect since no one really knows how
their leaders are chosen. The people in fact
have nothing to say about it just like elections in
Coto. And, then in March while I was there in
fact, they hold their “People’s Congress”
composed of 10,000 hand chosen “representatives”
who come to Beijing
once a year for a week to hear what their
“elected” leaders plan to do in the country.
These “representatives” get to vote Yes on the
Plan for the year as to do otherwise would be suicide.
Gosh,
in Coto we have a small number of people usually not
more than 25 – 30 Delegates “electing” our Board
Members in secret. The Delegates generally will
not reveal how they voted so those they are suppose to
represent namely the dues paying members of CZ have no
clue who they voted for. Our system is
equally corrupt because of cumulative voting and Board
Members who serve as Delegates making Recall next to
impossible. These same Board Members have
attempted to censor the news on several occasions
threatening lawsuits against critics. I guess a
lawsuit is better than death or the gulag; but the
effect is much the same. Fortunately, those of
us who are critics understand that the US Constitution
does not stop at our gates so we know that the threats
are nothing more than silly bluster from a bunch of
incompetent, corrupt dopes.
Nevertheless,
Communist China and Coto de Caza have a lot in common.
They have corrupt leaders and so do we. Their
leaders are elected in secret by a hand full of people
and so are ours. Their leaders feed their
friends who are piggies at the trough and so do ours.
Their government confiscates money from its citizens
and so does CZ. However, there is one big
difference. At least China is growing at about
8% a year even with all the corruption. About
the only thing growing in CZ is Bob Varo and Jerry
Mezger’s waistlines because our Members don’t have
much to show for their tenure in office. So now
Varo and Mezger are asking for another term. The
question is why would any Delegate in their right mind
vote for three more years of Varo/Mezger fiascos.
Delegates who vote for Varo and Mezger will be voting
for another dues increase because these two characters
have proven that they just can’t manage a buck.

P.S.
We have two Varo/Mezger dues increases in just two
years that are the result of blatant fiscal
mismanagement. I rest my case.
Hi
Joe:
You
may have noticed that with your Adopted 2007 CZ
Annual Budget, there is a section on Legal Action
Fine Schedule. – “Hearings before the
board; subject to $1,000 fine. Immediate legal
action may be taken against any owner who fails to
abide by a cease and desist notice”.
Guess what
this rule change is supposed to do? Now compare
the amount of this fine to the new transponder revenue
enhancing initiative. Any questions?-
