Justice, Coto de Caza style

December 7, 2006

We are coming up against the Nine Month anniversary of the tragic death of Mr. Morteza Manian and all is well in the dispensation of justice a-la-Coto de Caza.

Mr. Manian was transported to Mission Regional Hospital, and succumbed to his injuries in the late hours of 3/12/2006 after being struck by a car driven by a Coto teen, while he was riding his bicycle as he had done so many times before.  Subsequently the teen was taken into custody for, charged with vehicular manslaughter, felony hit and run and resisting and delaying or obstructing an officer.

Before a case (being a minor, the Orange County DA is forbidden by law, to disclose any details) was made for or against the teen, members of the current board of directors were blaming Mr. Manian for vehicle code violations.

We have been informed that during deliberations, the association took the side of the teen.

Now we know that the teen not only was able to attend summer school, but she is driving again – price tag:  200 hours community service.

Price tag for private security (but not really psecurity) in Coto de Caza?  $2,000.000.00 per year.

Price tag for  a minor charged with vehicular manslaughter, felony hit and run and resisting and delaying or obstructing an officer?  200 hours community service.

Our outrage at the Coto de Caza justice?  Priceless.
