COTOBUZZ
RELEASES CRIME
& VANDALISM MANAGEMENT TOOL
June
04, 2006
In
its continued commitment to public safety, on June 1, 2006, CotoBuzz unveiled a
Crime and Vandalism Management tool (see below for first installment),
containing key metrics and a side-by-side comparison between Coto de Caza and
Ladera Ranch. “This
is valuable information for our communities”, said Charles Gibson, President
of the Ladera Ranch Public Safety Committee.
Until
now, the only statistics available to concerned citizens have been the ones
contained in the Sheriff’s Blogger. For
private communities such as Coto de Caza, private security statistics are either
misleading or non-existing. In
the words of former NYC mayor Rudy Giuliani from his speech at DMD New York in
June 2002 when he was asked by an audience member how he got crime under
control, he replied the city set up the right tracking metrics and benchmarks.
Giuliani said, "If you can't measure it, you can't manage it; and you can't
manage it if you are not measuring it!.
We
thanks SSD/OCSD’s
Kris Garcia for her continued support in developing these invaluable tools!
Criminal
incidents between Coto de Caza and Ladera Ranch, on a per-capita basis seem to
be too close to call. Whereas the
non-criminal incident prize goes to Ladera.
